TREATING OUT OF CONTROL SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR ONLINE TRAINING
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is for Counsellors, Therapists or Mental Health Professionals who’d like to learn how sexual health can be an essential ally in changing out of control sexual behaviour.
This is your opportunity to study the first and only online course presented by OCSB expert, Doug Braun-Harvey covering the foundations of OCSB theory as well as step-by-step tools for assessment, treatment planning and treatment implementation.
You’ll gain valuable insight into the OCSB Pathway to collaboratively guide clients in defining their own personal vision of sexual health as the foundation for regaining sexual behaviour control.
The course is based on the approach outlined in the award winning book ‘Treating Out Of Control Sexual Behaviour’ co-authored by Doug Braun-Harvey and Michael Vigorito that’s taken the world of sexology and relationship therapy by storm.
The field of human sexuality and mental health have an extensive history of confusing and conflicting conversations and research about excessive and harmful sexual behaviours.
Many leaders in the mental health and sexual health areas have moved beyond ‘sex addiction’, ‘sexual compulsivity, and ‘hypersexuality’ conceptualizations of dysregulated sexual behaviour.
Braun-Harvey/Vigorito’s sexual health framework for understanding and addressing out of control sexual behaviour (OCSB) is an exciting new, effective, compassionate, and client-centred sexual health assessment and treatment pathway model that views OCSB as a sexual problem, not a disorder.
The course instructor, Douglas Braun-Harvey, presents the foundations of OCSB theory as well as step-by-step tools for assessment, treatment planning and treatment implementation.
He provides rich and varied composite case examples from his 25 years of clinical experience. This course is the only online course presented by Doug Braun-Harvey.
It is an opportunity to listen to his clinical sexual health treatment conversations and tools, as well as his stories of hope and guidance for professionals wanting to learn how sexual health can be an essential ally in changing out of control sexual behaviour.

WHAT MAKES THIS COURSE DIFFERENT?
THE OCSB MODEL IS BASED ON THE DEFINITION OF SEXUAL HEALTH FROM THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION
The OCSB model utilises six /principles/ of Sexual Health rather than being */act -centred/* so, for example engaging in consensual non-monogamy or viewing pornography or having casual sex would not considered diagnostic criteria and matters for treatment as they would within most ‘Sex Addiction’ therapy approaches. You can read the WHO’s definition of sexual health here.
THE OCSB MODEL FITS WITH THE AASECT POSITION ON SEX ADDICTION
The OCSB model falls within the position statement on sex addiction made by the American Association for Sex Educators and Therapists(AASECT).
GAIN AASECT CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS WITH THIS COURSE

PROFESSIONALS FIND THIS APPROACH MORE EFFECTIVE THAN OTHER TREATMENT PROTOCOLS
This model is considered highly effective by many sex therapists and psychologists in the USA who had previously trained in ‘Sex Addiction’ but found those treatment protocols ineffective.
